GENERAL AND PREVENTATIVE

Comprehensive Dental Examination

Dental exams are recommended every 6 months. At this time we examine diagnostic radiographs to assess for decay, periodontal disease and other oral lesions. We will perform an oral cancer screening, evaluate the gums and bone around the teeth for periodontal disease, examine the dentition for teeth decay and assess existing restorations.

Dental Cleanings and Gum Disease

The dental cleaning consists of removing both plaque (soft build-up) and calculus (hard build-up) from the teeth and a polishing for stain removal. We will also provide education regarding your oral health and provide oral hygiene aids to help improve your dental health. Fluoride treatments are available to improve the strength of enamel.

Fillings and Sealants

Fillings are used to repair teeth with decay, fractures or cracks. Many different filling materials are available, including tooth coloured composite fillings. Sealants are thin coatings applied to the biting surface of teeth or any deep pits or groove that are susceptible to decay. Sealants can protect teeth from decay and help to avoid needing fillings.

Crowns/Onlays/Inlays

Teeth with extensive restorations, decay or fractures can be structurally weak and prone to further wear/fracture. A crown or “cap” is a permanently bonded custom restoration that covers all surfaces of a tooth, effectively splinting and protecting the remaining tooth structure. An onlay, or partial crown, is a conservative version of a crown that allows for the maintenance of more tooth structure. An inlay is a lab-fabricated alternative for traditional filling materials with improved fit and longevity. Crowns, onlays and inlays are available in a variety of materials including gold, porcelain, or a combination.

Fixed Bridges

Bridges are an elegant way to fill in any spaces where teeth are missing while simultaneously protecting the adjacent teeth, if heavily restored/worn. The teeth on either side of the space are carefully prepared and a one-piece custom “bridge” that spans the gap is permanently bonded in place to replace the missing teeth. Like crowns, bridges are available in a variety of materials, including gold, porcelain, or a combination

Dentures (partial, complete)

A great solution in cases of multiple missing teeth. An easy, non-invasive option to replace teeth and your beautiful smile while simultaneously splinting and protecting slightly mobile teeth.

COSMETIC DENTISTRY

Cosmetic Bonding

This procedure is a minimally invasive way, one-visit way to give you a beautiful smile. Improve on tooth color, shape, and alignment with carefully placed direct composite build-ups on the front teeth.

Veneers

Veneers are a beautiful cosmetic solution for improving your smile. Custom porcelain laminates are created and bonded to each front tooth to create dramatic aesthetic improvements.

Whitening (in-office and take-home)

We offer both in-office and take-home bleaching options for our patients to safely and effectively whiten your smile. Talk with our staff and see what system would work best for you.

ENDONTICS

Root Canal Therapy

In cases of more extensive fracture, decay, or trauma, the nerve of a tooth may be irreversibly damaged or abscessed/infected. In these cases a “root canal” is needed to cleanse, disinfect, and seal the pulp canal before a conventional filling can be placed. Root canals tend to have a scary reputation among patients but are in fact not much different than a more intricate filling appointment. In cases of a severe abscess, your dentist may opt to prescribe antibiotics ahead of time to relieve pain, settle the infection, and make for an easier appointment.

ORTHODONTICS

Invisalign Orthodontics

Invisalign is a clear alternative to conventional braces. They can transform your smile with a series of clear aligners. They are virtually invisible and easy to remove for normal brushing/flossing, unlike traditional braces.

Oral Surgery

Extractions

An extraction is performed when a tooth becomes impacted because it is prevented from growing into its normal position in the mouth by gum tissue, bone or other teeth. Teeth may also be extracted to make more room in the mouth prior to straightening the remaining teeth.

Wisdom Teeth

For most people it is beneficial to have their wisdom teeth removed simply because there is no room for them in their mouth without creating crowding in their existing teeth. We pride ourselves in performing gentle surgical procedures, comfortably and with a minimum of post-operative swelling or discomfort.

Sedation

For our more anxious patients, short-acting sedatives can be administered to make your dental experience more pleasant, pain-free, and relaxing.

Dental Implants

A dental implant is an artificial root made of titanium metal. It is inserted into the jawbone to replace the root of the natural tooth. It is a predictable, long term solution to replace one or many missing teeth.

Mouth Guards

Bruxism Guards

Grinding or clenching during sleep can have detrimental effects on the dentition, jaw and facial muscles. Night guards are custom fit appliances that are worn at night to help to prevent or minimize the effects of grinding or clenching.

Sports Guards

Sports guards are custom fit appliances that help to reduce the risk of damage to the teeth during sports.

Other Services

TMJ Assessment

The temperomandibular or jaw joint is one of the most complex in the body. A careful assessment of TMJ function will be done to detect any signs of excessive wear or dysfunction. Protective mouthguards for night-time grinding and sports are available to protect the teeth and TMJ and alleviate muscle fatigue from clenching.

Emergency Treatment

We are always happy to accommodate patients, new and existing, for emergency treatment and to get you out of pain. Our extended clinic hours help accommodate everyone’s busy schedule while our emergency contact number is available anytime after-hours

Botox Treatment

Botox can be an effective treatment for the delay of onset for wrinkles and can also be used for various oral conditions including jaw joint issues.
